A cinematic world of guitar-like soundscapes.

Otherworldly pads, epic tension-building drones, emotion-inducing plucks, atmosphere-creating FX, nostalgically filmic leads, and a whole world of brand-new inspiration.

G-T4R is a plugin designed and developed by Tom Calvett from the electronic duo V O E & Black Octopus Sound

This is NOT a guitar plugin

“I mean….. it is….. its meant to have that backbone… but what this is, is a DREAM-GAZED-OUT-PAD-DRONE-AMBIENT-MONSTER OF A PLUGIN.”

– Slade Templeton of Influx Studios

It is fundamentally a sample-based engine using a fully synthesized electric guitar-like sound. Although the source sound imitates an electric guitar, the inspiration behind G-T4R is to use the distinct tones of a guitar to make guitar-like cinematic drones, ambient pads, unique effects, and much more.

Features

One of the major playing roles in G-T4R’s unique sound is the 5 ‘Convolution Reverbs‘. All of these are completely original to this plugin and have been made using a variety of vocal tones, percussive foley, and epic-sized synthetic reverb impulses.

The ‘Tone Adjustments‘ let you alter the source sound to imitate a variety of familiar and unfamiliar electric guitar tones, from harsh and bright to warm and mellow and anywhere in between.

The ‘Pre Distortion‘ and ‘Post Distortion’ gives the control of adding carefully shaped distortion to the sound either before the addition of reverb or after. These two options can give very diverse results and provide a huge range of saturation or aggression.

Another highly versatile feature is the addition of the ‘Bass Cabinet‘. Not only does this place the sound into a warm, sub-shaping Bass Cabinet, but it also alters the overall tone and harmonics of the source samples to match an electric bass.

Finally, features such as the ‘Synth Layer‘ adds a meticulously designed synth sound to blend with the source samples. The ever-useful ‘Noise‘ adds a fluffy white noise element to add air and space to the sound. And lastly, the ‘Harmonic Add’ imitates a familiar shimmer effect adding a series of higher harmonics giving the sound a whole new dimension.
